Chaos The New Norm

Who Really Cares

It continues to be an honor to be the Mayor of the Town of Iowa. Honored to have the confidence of the voters to put me in office. Honored to see that for the most part residents gave the "wait and see" regarding the recall against me.

There are many, many good people in the Town of Iowa, but there have also been revealed to be a handful of people that are blind and deaf to the truth, and I'm sure that none of what I say will find favor in their camp.

We can all agree that truth exposes each of us regardless of our station in life.

Truth is difficult to speak; it's difficult to live.

When it comes to truth, as my late father would say,"it's as rare as hen's teeth".

As much as my earthly father taught me many things, my stubbornness limited me in learning, as I fought against life's lessons.

However, over the past handful of years, my belief in God Almighty has taught me so much, more so, in the past 2 1/2 years. It is time that I speak regarding some very specific actions.

There is a fine line between politicians and criminal activity, Those who chose to be "elected officials" differ from politicians. It is my belief there are many who stay true to their oaths, laws, and ordinances and stay out of the fray of scratching backs. To those that do public service for the right reasons , my hat's off to you. Its a thankless, difficult service. For the politicians, I now pray for you, that God will deal with you in His time and in His ways.

The Town of Iowa has seen many elections since 1954, leaving one to ask, where is the growth and the united community. As recently as this last month, we have seen "chaos" descend like a storm cloud on the horizon

Who really cares about law and order?

I do, without it we only have "chaos"

Why is intimidation and threats the norm?

Who cares about a public individual signing a contract on behalf of the Town without authorization that is only given by the state to a duly elected mayor?

Who cares that a non- U.S. Citizen, non voting resident continues to peddle misinformation?

Who cares that when a stop sign with bullet holes was reported near a known drug house, then just a few short months later a young man's life was taken in broad daylight in that very location by gun fire?

Who cares that employees left for less pay, despite the narrative being pushed by the PD that the "mayor cut benefits"?

Who cares that there have been no loss of employees in the Administration over the last 2 years?

Does leadership matter?

Who really cares that a resident can have their life threatened and "nothing can be done about it"?

Who cares that employee policies which have been in place for years are violated by the very people who have sworn to uphold our laws and ordinances?

Who really cares that an elected official can be threatened at Town hall and then be told that "nothing can be done"?

Who cares that the duly elected mayor has been told for 2 1/2 years to "not rock the boat"?

Who cares that the Town has less Money to spend today than we did last year and several years before?

If you still don't care about any of these, it isn't worth me listing more.

Who can blame the council for giving in to the intimidation of not just an elected official, but speeches given by an employee and future employee, all the while supported by the most radical group of individuals in town.

Leadership matters!

If you don't care, should I?

Only one difference between us. I swore an oath; I can't toss my oath away based on what I want. I will continue to honor my oath, and I will do it within the confines of the laws and ordinances set forth. I will always rest in the comfort of knowing that with God's help I will continue to do things the right way, not the selfish way.

I pray for the people of Iowa, the Parish, our State, and the Nation, that God will give them the desires of their heart. If that desire is more chaos, you're well on your way to accomplishing what you want. If you want the right thing done no matter how difficult, then now's the time to let that be known.

I chose to do the right thing, for one very simple reason, James 4:17.

Its what I believe, it's what I will live.
