MEET NEAL

Since the mid 1800's, our region of Southwest Louisiana has encountered men and women that chose to make a life here and more specifically what is now the Town of Iowa.  Our region and town has changed over the years and the speed of those changes is staggering with today's technology. That is why I believe that we must prepare today so that the future of the generations to come can have a better quality of life.  Our children deserve the dedication required to make the changes. Those changes may test our resolve but are best for the Town of Iowa.  Changes have occurred since the dawn of time, forced on mankind by necessity.  We are a resilient people, and we can endure what life gives us together.

All residents of the town of Iowa deserve to take comfort in knowing that their local government strives to work through difficult decisions, with the sole result of providing the Town with a solid foundation needed for planned methodical growth.  Growth that can usher in sound financial stability and that can potentially lighten the tax burden of all residents.  Changes, unlike placing an order at a drive-thru, never happen immediately and tend to take months and years to accomplish.

Many necessary changes have occurred since taking office, some more difficult than others. As I am sure there will be more changes in our future, I remain committed to being financially, morally, and ethically responsible according to my oath of office, as is required of me under the Lawrason Act.

A saying from our past holds true through our future: "If we fail to plan, we plan to fail."  Failures are not pleasant to go through, as I can attest to in my personal life.  Learning from failures can allow one to build a plan that can succeed, Aren't we glad that Abraham Lincoln never gave up!.

Because of his and others examples in my life, I recognize that the Town of Iowa needs a plan that will help navigate the future.  After many months and with the help of SWLA Planning Commission, the Town has drafted a 5-page plan.

Our future is in front of us. Join me and help the Town of Iowa see its true potential.

May God richly bless you and keep you during these challenging times.
